The Club

Founded on January 6th, 2016, North Side Archery Club is a recognized not-for-profit USA Archery, National Field Archery Association, and Move United member club whose goal is to advance the growth and the enjoyment of archery in the Chicago area. We are dedicated to the competitive nature of archery by fostering national and international amateur competition, while promoting the sport to new archers. The club was a participant in the USA Archery Club Excellence program during 2020. NSAC was awarded the USA Archery Club of the Year in 2022 as well as USA Archery’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Access (DEIA) Award and excellence in Event Hosting award. In 2023, we were awarded the overall USA Archery Club of the Year in addition to the national awards in DEIA, Event Hosting, and Member Growth. We look forward to welcoming you!

President: Sarah Briscoe

Sarah is a multi-discipline archer, a USA Archery Level 4-NTS Coach and USA Archery Level 3 National Judge. She got involved in archery through an NSAC Beginner class in 2017. At the 2018 USA Archery Outdoor National Championship, she earned the Gold medal in Senior Women’s Barebow, as well as the Gold medal in the US Open for the same division. In that competition, she set a national record for the double 50M round. She has experience with Olympic Recurve as well and is working on her Compound game in 2024. She was selected as 2023 Volunteer Coach of the Year by USA Archery. When she’s not shooting or coaching, Sarah works in data & analytics, specializing in small business credit risk. Vice President: Karen Sternfeld

Karen has been an active para-archer since 2019, having first tried archery in summer day camps many years ago. She received her national classification to compete as a para-archer in 2020 and shoots national and international competitions. Karen is an Olympic Recurve archer and is also a USA Archery Level 2 Instructor. She is passionate about para-athletics and besides her archery accomplishments also competes in triathlons across the country.

 

Treasurer: Han Lee

Han has been an enthusiastic member of the club since 2023. He is a barebow archer that regularly attends the clubs events and other tournaments. While he continues to pursue his goal of earning all of the indoor and outdoor USA Archery achievement pins, he also volunteers at The Friendship Center food pantry, as well as dabbles in pottery and baking. Secretary / Head Coach: Brent Harmon

Brent serving as team leader/COACH for team USA at the HYUndai archery World CUP, STage 1 in Antalya, TURKEY (2022).

Brent is a USA Archery Level 4-NTS Coach and was selected as 2021 USA Archery Developmental Coach of the Year. He currently serves as North Region Head Coach for the USA Archery Regional Elite Program, after having served on the USA Archery Recurve Junior Dream Team staff. Brent serves as the Head Coach of the University of Chicago Archery Team, DePaul University Archery Club, and UIC Archery Club. He spearheads the archery program for Great Lakes Adaptive Sports Association (GLASA), the British International School, and Evanston Parks and Recreation, among others. Brent has extensive experience as a Tournament Director and is both a World Archery Americas Continental Judge and a USA Archery Level 3 National Judge. Assistant Treasurer: Krista Eckhardt

Krista has been a Barebow archer since 2021, having started archery through an NSAC Beginner Class. Krista is a USA Archery Level 2 Instructor and assists with NSAC’s local school programs. She is very active in North Side Archery Club activities and competitions and has earned her Yellow USA Archery Adult Achievement Pin. When she’s not at the range, Krista works in non-profits.
