The Club

Founded on January 6th, 2016, North Side Archery Club is a recognized not-for-profit USA Archery club whose goal is to advance the growth and the enjoyment of archery in the Chicago area. We are dedicated to the competitive nature of archery by fostering national and international amateur competition, while at the same time promoting the sport to new archers, both young and old.

President : Sarah Briscoe

Sarah is a Barebow archer, a USA Archery Level 3-NTS Coach and USA Archery Certified Judge. She got involved in archery through an NSAC Beginner class in August 2017. Coached by Brent Harmon, she now competes at a national level. At the 2018 USA Archery Outdoor Nationals, she earned the Gold medal in Senior Women’s Barebow, as well as the Gold medal in the US Open for the same division. In that competition, she set a national record for the double 50M round. She also holds the Illinois state record for the single 50M round. Sarah can be contacted at 


Vice President / PR Director: Bryan Weiss

Bryan has been an archer since 2012, concentrating on compound shooting, though recently adding olympic recurve to his repertoire. He's won a number of local club championships and has participated in the NFAA Indoor Nationals twice, coming in 3rd in his flight. He's earned his bronze olympian pin for compound in the USA Archery AAP program.  


Treasurer: Marc Koif

Marc has been an avid Barebow archer for the last few years after getting involved in the sport at the behest of his daughter. He’s won numerous local tournaments and has medaled in both the ITAA Indoor and Outdoor State tournaments. He has also earned his gold olympian pin for Barebow in the USA Archery AAP program. Secretary / Head Coach: Brent Harmon

Besides holding other professional certifications, Brent is a USA Archery Level 4-NTS Coach. Currently he is a North Region coach for the USA Archery Regional Elite Development Program, after having served on the USA Archery Recurve Junior Dream Team staff.  He has experience as both a Barebow and an Olympic Recurve archer, and he has received training in kyudo and horseback archery, as well. Brent serves on the board of the Illinois Target Archery Association, and he is the Central Region Archery Representative for Adaptive Sports USA.  He has extensive experience as a Tournament Director and is a USA Archery National Judge. Cory Bannester

Cory has been an active Olympic recurve shooter in Chicago since 2012. She is a certified USA Archery judge and has prior experience as a Level 2 Instructor teaching both kids and adults. Her accomplishments include: 1st place 2015, 2014, and 2013 ITAA Outdoor State Championships , 1st place 2015 ITAA Indoor State Championship 18M, 25M & Aggregate, 1st Place 2013 Indoor National Championships- Female Senior Barebow. Her favorite archery experience thus far was competing in the 2015 Olympics Trials in Texas.
